Brocco

Hello! I’d like to introduce you to this character, the one on the right side in the image above. This illustration was like a ‘playtime’ for me, a moment of creative freedom without overthinking. It’s really nice to have that kind of time when you can create without many expectations or specific intentions.

This character, a little broccoli, spontaneously emerged in some of my drawings. She began to take on a life of her own, almost as if she’s saying to me, ‘Oh, I’m very happy, very proactive. Can’t you see?’

Her vegetable hair is always well-done and fluffy, and she wears lovely purple glasses—though in this drawing, she’s wearing an orange one due to skydiving adventures.

Broccoli, or simply Brocco, is a young broccoli living in a Tree Condominium (which I’ll present later), neighboring a mushroom and a rather crabby tomato with a cloud or sheep pet. Brocco enjoys talking through letters with her parents, because they live far away. She loves to sing and is vegan—sometimes finding it a bit weird to be a veggie that eats veggies (I can explain that later too..!).

Brocco fills her days with a variety of activities, from meditation to working at an inn in the little Village of Poki Poki. Although she seems open, Brocco doesn’t talk much about herself. However, I can share one of her mysteries: she’s on a quest to find love, and that’s her greatest adventure.”
