A digital watercolor study

I initiated this study with a pencil sketch, then I painted it in Procreate using watercolor brushes and digital paper. It was the beginning of my digital watercolor attempts and what I liked the most was the texture paper effects. In watercolor, this texture significantly contributes to the final aesthetic, giving a sense of something analogic and handmade.

While certain aspects could be refined to better emulate traditional watercolor techniques, I see a big potential in this form of digital creation. Additional advantages include color fidelity during printing, the ability to undo and organize elements across layers, and all the possible editions that can be made in the digital paper too. All of these bring a lot of choices and expand the possibilities of creativity.
